2016 Syrah, Hampton Family Vineyard

Aging: 12 mos in neutral French oak barrels

The grapes for the 2016 Syrah were harvested by hand on September 13th. Fermentation took place in small bins with one pump over per day and one punch down per day following a 5 day cold soak. The wine was pressed and then aged for 12 months in neutral French oak barrels. 


The Hampton Family vineyard lies in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley AVA and consistently produces lush wines with dark fruit flavors.


The 2016 Syrah is deep purple in color with warm, baking spice aromas mingled with hints of maple bacon, sage and cherry pie. Red fruit flavors of bing cherry and cranberry accented with subtle hints of all-spice and graphite. The wine is medium to heavy in body with bright fruit framed by velvety tannins and mouthwatering acidity.
