2018 Grenache Rosé, Camp 4 Vineyard

Quick Specs

Varietal: 100% Grenache
Aging: 6 mos in Stainless Steel "barrels"
Production: 123 cases produced

The 2018 Rosé is made entirely from Grenache. Harvest took place on a cool morning in late September. The grapes were picked at 23 Brix allowing the wine to retain its bright acidity and aromatics. The grapes were gently pressed after 6 hours on their skins, then racked to stainless steel “barrels” for fermentation.

The Grenache for this rosé was sourced from Camp 4 vineyard located on the eastern edge of the Santa Ynez Valley AVA. Planted by John Belfy in 1999, the warmer climate and clay loam soils are ideal for the Rhône and Bordelais varietals grown there.

Refreshing aromas of fresh cut roses and wild strawberries abound in this dry rosé. Crisp and bright on the palate with juicy, fruit flavors of guava and white cherries.
